Emily is an active member of Minnesota Music Teachers Association, serving as treasurer of the local chapter, Arrowhead Music Teachers Association; and as site administrator for MMTA piano and theory exams, Music Bridges, and the Ensemble Festival in the NE-Duluth region. She is recognized by Music Teachers National Association as a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music (NCTM) and is also an MMTA Endorsed Judge, frequently adjudicating for exams and Contest. Emily is active as a solo and collaborative pianist in the Twin Ports area. She is the Staff Accompanist at The College of St. Scholastica, where she collaborates with the CSS Choral Ensembles, accompanies vocal and instrumental music majors, and also serves as Fine Arts Department Administrative Assistant and Director of Arts + Ideas. In 2015, she received the Advocate for Choral Excellence Award from the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) of MN. In 2025, she received the Jerry Kaldor Outstanding Service Award from the Lake Superior Youth Chorus (LSYC) after 11 years as an accompanist with the organization. Emily holds a B.A. in Music (Piano Performance and Pedagogy) from The College of St. Scholastica, where she studied piano, harpsichord, and pedagogy with Dr. LeAnn House. Emily began playing the piano at age 7, and her previous teachers include Gretchen Chelseth, Jan Erickson, and Sharon Brown.
